About the Project

Students enrolled in Dr. Gabe H. Miller's Intro to Race & Ethnicity at Mississippi State University developed projects related to Racial Disparities in COVID-19.  These podcasts and zines help illustrate racial disparities in COVID-19 and provide resources for understanding these disparities.

About the Class

Intro to Race & Ethnicity introduces the study of race and ethnicity within the discipline of sociology.  In the course, students focus on 1) how sociologists define and use the concepts of "race" and "ethnicity," 2) how sociologists use theories and data to learn about and explain race and ethnicity, and 3) how race and ethnicity relate to other social processes. The course introduces students to the sociology of race and ethnicity, and provides them with the resources needed to investigate these issues more full.
